Project
New build scheme providing a two storey office and technical research facility for electric vehicle motors. The £2,000,000 property was developed by Welsh Government for Yasa and constructed by Paveaways. Yasa required a technical advisor to assist during the final design stages and monitor the construction works on their behalf.
Challenges
- The client requirements for the building were being finalised during the early stages of construction which led to variations in design.
- New utility and drainage infrastructure had to be brought to the site plot.
- There was a relocation deadline for the client.
Solution
Our involvement in the project enabled us to lead our client through the complexities of the construction phase, and agree design variations in a controlled manner. Visibility of cost increases and understanding the impact upon the construction programme enabled the client to make informed decisions and provided the developer with assurances there would be no disputes at the end of the project.
A delay in the installation of the electrical supply placed pressure on the relocation deadline for the client, but by working with the development team an interim solution was achieved and a successful outcome for the project.
