Party Wall Building Owner Surveyor
Provision of party wall surveyor services for the developer of a 42 apartment residential building in the centre of Shrewsbury. The development was adjacent to a public house that had been vacant for several years and there were party wall issues to agree prior to construction of the new apartment block.
Challenges
- There were concerns that the development could be delayed if the adjoining owners of the vacant pub were unresponsive or could not be contacted.
- The client was keen to resolve matters amicably without a protracted process of agreeing the Party Wall Award.
Solution
After extensive searches we were able to identify the freeholder owners of the property, who were based in London. We were able to contact the owners and discuss the proposed development and the party wall issues that needed to be addressed.
By ensuring the development team prepared detailed drawings and explanation of the party wall works including all the measures that would be implemented to protect the adjoining property, the Adjoining Owner was willing to consent to the Party Wall Notice thus avoiding project delays.
